It was Ganon time on Hammer time last week! Outstanding coaching and basketballers eager to learn is any formula for success. Due to weather and unforeseen circumstances the original gym was flooded upon arrival. The parents were very patient and understanding of the situation as the organizers found a new gym that morning. Ready…Let’s Go! The warm up was intense with discipline and lots of pushups. This camp is for improving and digging deep to mentally and physically challenge yourself, in and out of the classroom. I was completely impressed with MJ who is 6 months pregnant doing pushup to technical perfection. An inspiration to any athlete, parent or coach.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I loved the the fun “Wood”socks running and jumping around the gym on the last day to honor the spirit of Sydney Wood. \u00a0It was a celebratory day with lots of photo bombing, high fives, chest bumps and shirt signing.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of camp this year a very special award was given out to two 11 yr old campers Skyler Rajasingham and Katie Dal Bello. Greg and Sue Wood presented both athletes with the Sydney Wood Spirit Award:<\/span><\/p>\n

“Our Daughter Sydney’s spirit is vibrant, dynamic energetic and sparkling! So our family is extremely proud of joining in partnership with the Gannon Baker camp to award the first annual “Sydney Wood Spirit Award” to two campers who exemplify that kind and caring spirit during their time at camp. Sydney used the time at camp to improve her basketball skills but also to encourage ,support and cheer her fellow campers. We hope this award is a small stepping stone to keeping Sydney’s kind and caring nature alive in the thoughts and hearts of those who know her and in those who get to know her through others. Our goal is to ensure that the children who exhibit that “Sydney Spirit” in the community are recognized and encouraged , and Sydney’s spirit continues to sparkle as she is forever with us.” Greg & Sue Wood<\/span><\/p>\n

Other work in progress is the amazing DYSC U10 Boys Photoshoot…Now not trying to brag-BUT when you have kids who can do bicycle kicks and others who push through a photoshoot not feeling well and you get shots like this…I’d say full on Team Effort! \u00a0Always working on my specialty dunk shots and sometimes I just see a moment I need to capture, so follow me on my social media network to see the latest and greatest!<\/span><\/p>\n
