McMaster’s women’s soccer team was blanked, 2-0, on Sunday (Sept. 9) by the visiting Western Mustangs. The setback left the Marauders with a 2-1 record in Ontario University Athletics play.
Ten minutes into the match at Ron Joyce Stadium, Western’s Hannah Kennedy’s first goal of the season would stand as the game winner.
The second half saw the Mustangs dominate the opening minutes and kept the Marauders bottled in their own half of the field. With 10 minutes left in the game, Western sealed the deal with a goal from Lauren Winquist, who had three shots on goal.
For the Marauders, Stephanie Davis had the most opportunities with three shots on goal.
The York Lions visit Mac on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. affair.
